Medical Information Privacy Breach at Stanford Hospital
The news story of Stanford Hospital allowing private medical information of many of their patients to exist on the internet for a year highlights a worst nightmare situation for many of us. (Full article linked below). A spreadsheet of detailed patient information was left out on the internet for a year before being discovered by Stanford Hospital and taken down. As the internet, social media websites, and agressive internet marketing companies flourish in our modern world our privacy, especially concerning our medical information, becomes more important. In doing our part, our firm vigilantly protects our clients personal information in their case. For instance, we will never submit a client’s social security number unless it has been ordered by the court. This is just our commitment to the privacy of our clients.
