Suquamish, WA (April 9, 2021) – Local sources revealed that a woman injured in a serious pedestrian accident in Suquamish on Tuesday, April 6, has succumbed to her injuries.
Emergency responders were called to the scene of the incident at the corner of Suquamish Way and South Street, near the House of Awakened Culture. Two pedestrians, identified as 74-year-old Nancy McPherson and 78-year-old Donald McPherson, were walking along Suquamish Way when they were hit by a southbound 2003 Chrysler minivan.
Both victims were airlifted to a nearby trauma center in critical condition. Despite lifesaving measures by healthcare officials, Nancy was pronounced dead. Her husband, Donald, remains in serious conditions at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The involved driver was identified as an 81-year-old man.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Nancy McPherson at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family in hopes of a full recovery.
Many Washington state residents choose to travel on foot rather than in a motor vehicle. Walking is a great way to get around while improving your health and lessening your carbon footprint. Unfortunately, many drivers fail to look out for pedestrians and cause serious accidents. Thousands of pedestrians are killed annually in the United States, and pedestrians are nearly 1.5 times more likely to be killed in the event of a collision.
Family members are often left reeling after a loved one’s life is tragically cut short due to the negligence of another, and recovering can be a difficult battle for surviving family members who are left to pick up the pieces. It is only natural to want to grieve, and pursuing a lawsuit is usually the least of their concerns. However, a Washington wrongful death lawsuit can potentially help your family recover financial compensation resulting from your devastating loss.
