The risk of sustaining serious injuries is a reality for many pedestrians, and many residents of Washington choose to travel on foot. Unfortunately, this leaves them exposed to the hazards of the road, and many drivers fail to look out for pedestrians. National statistics reveal that pedestrians are nearly 1.5 times more likely to be killed in the event of a traffic accident.
Traveling on foot is common across Washington, and drivers traveling the state’s roadways owe a duty to avoid causing injury to pedestrians. Walking can be a great way to get around or just enjoy a beautiful day. Pedestrians have legal rights, and for victims who have been injured in a pedestrian accident, a Tacoma personal injury lawyer may be able to help you obtain lost compensation.
