When a passenger car is involved in a crash with a commercial truck, the resulting injuries can be catastrophic. The majority of cargo in the United States is transported by truck, and the nation’s roadways are filled with these big rigs. These truck drivers have to work long hours, which can cause them to make critical errors behind the wheel. Nearly 67% of trucking fatalities in 2019 involved the occupants of passenger cars.
Large semi-trucks can cause catastrophic injuries in the event of a collision with a passenger vehicle. Truck-driver inexperience is a leading cause of deadly commercial vehicle accidents as companies are trying to fill positions due to a shortage of drivers, and this negligence contributes to serious crashes involving 18-wheelers and commercial vehicles. When the negligence of another driver results in a crash, injured victims should consult with a Seattle trucking injury lawyer in order to recover lost compensation by pursuing a Washington personal injury claim.
