When the fronts of two vehicles collide, it can result in fatal injuries — even when the crash occurs at high speeds. When traveling at highway speeds, head-on collisions can be particularly lethal. An estimated 10% of fatal collisions involve head-on impacts, despite making up only 2% of reported crashes nationwide. Statistics show that head-on accidents have a nearly 58% fatality rate.
