Tacoma, WA (May 7, 2021) - One person died and huge traffic backups resulted after a serious crash involving three semi-trucks and other vehicles occurred on Interstate 5 near the King-Pierce County line early Friday morning, May 7.
Troopers and medics initially responded to the scene, located in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Fife around 3:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a fatal crash. A pedestrian was found dead on the freeway just north of 70th Avenue eastbound and was struck by two cars. Moments later, three semi-trucks collided in the backup from the first crash near 54th Avenue East, further snarling traffic and resulting in further injuries.
The investigation is underway, and specific details about those involved have not been released.
