Monroe, WA (May 1, 2021) - A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a train in the Monroe area on Friday, April 30.
Firefighters and emergency responders were sent to the scene early that morning at around 6:13 a.m. Initial reports revealed that the incident occurred at the Main Street railroad crossing. The victim was found dead when emergency response units arrived.
The train was reportedly blocking multiple other crossings following the deadly crash. The identity of the deceased party has not been revealed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal collision is underway, and more information will be provided as it continues.
