Pierce County, WA (June 7, 2021) - A two-alarm fire at an apartment in Pierce County resulted in two people being injured, including a firefighter, on Saturday, June 5.
A total of twelve units in the complex were impacted by the fire. Local reports indicated that 20 people were displaced due to the blaze. Firefighters and emergency personnel were called to the scene to provide assistance and extinguish the fire.
A firefighter at the scene was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No updates on their condition have been provided at this time. Another involved party was treated at the scene by attending medical personnel.
Local sources revealed that the fire was caused by someone barbecuing with charcoal. An ongoing investigation into the blaze is underway.
