Tacoma, WA (February 28, 2021) - A multi-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler in the Tacoma area resulted in one fatality on Friday, February 26.
Local sources established that the fatal trucking crash occurred on Interstate 5 near 84th Street. A semi-truck reportedly jack-knifed while attempting to avoid colliding with a vehicle on the roadway. The commercial truck swerved to the left, striking another vehicle, before overturning and hitting the other car, as well.
The driver of the car in the left lane suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. Samaritans at the scene attempted to resuscitate her but were unsuccessful. No further injuries were reported in the crash.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.
