Monroe, WA (August 3, 2021) - There were several injuries reported following a multi-vehicle crash in the Monroe area on Sunday, August 1.
The incident occurred on US-2 near Sofie Road at around 3:25 p.m. that afternoon. Three vehicles were reportedly involved in the impact. A total of 7 to 9 people had to be transported to local hospitals for treatment, with patients ranging from ages 8 to 86.
Two other victims were treated at the scene by responding paramedics. Local reports revealed that a Toyota was traveling northbound on Sofie Road when the driver turned left onto the highway and was hit by a pickup truck. The impact caused the pickup to collide head-on with a Honda, causing the third vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the Toyota was cited for failure to yield. An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
