Pedestrian Accidents in Washington
As a pedestrian, you have every right to use the roadway. Unfortunately, many drivers fail to look out for those traveling on foot and cause catastrophic accidents. Washington state ranked 21st in the nation for pedestrian fatalities in the first six months of 2019. National statistics reveal that pedestrians are nearly 1.5 times more likely than passenger vehicle occupants to be killed in the event of a car crash.
No matter if you live in a big city or a rural area, you are going to share the road with pedestrians from time to time, and drivers on Seattle roadways owe a duty to all roadway travelers, including pedestrians. Many residents in Washington walk to restaurants, go for a jog, or just want to enjoy a beautiful day on foot. As a pedestrian, you have legal rights, and if you are struck by another vehicle and injured, you may be entitled to compensation with the help of a qualified Seattle personal injury lawyer.
